Sandblasting is achieved by projecting, at high speed and pressure, silica sand or corundum onto the surface of the stone. When steel shot is used, this finish is called shot peening. Depending on the pressure applied and the flow rate of the abrasive, a finer or thicker finish is achieved.
The treated surface is uniform, with a series of peaks and valleys, similar to those achieved with bush hammering.
Recommended for any use on the exterior and interior of buildings, although not especially recommended on interior flooring due to its rough surface.
